Amul
launches Vanilla Royale and Sweet Heart Chocolate ice creams
Amul,
the market leader in ice creams in the country, has launched the Vanilla
Royale ice cream using pure natural vanilla extract. Amul is the first
Indian brand to use natural vanilla in ice cream. The Gujarat Co-operative
Milk Marketing Federation Ltd markets the products of 2.9 million milk
producers of Gujarat under the brand name Amul and has taken this initiative
to help 1,500 vanilla farmers of Kochi who are engaged in procuring
and processing quality natural vanilla as per international standards.
Amul's Vanilla Royale is available in an attractive 500 ml paper cups
priced at Rs 45 all over the country. It stays fresh for 12 months from
the date of packaging when stored at - 18oC. Amul has also launched
an innovative ice cream Sweet Heart Chocolate all over the country.
Priced at Rs 70 for a one litre family pack, this novel ice cream has
chocolate in heart shape in the centre on a slab of vanilla ice cream.
The two distinctive flavours have been packed without mixing each other.
This scoop of love wrapped in vanilla is targeted at all those young
at heart..

Cheetos has launched its first new 3D snack 'Cheetos
Dragonz' The new limited-edition variant commemorates Cheetos's partnership
with Toon Disney and is closely associated with the programme 'Dragon
Booster' on Jetix. 'Cheetos Dragonz' is innovative, orange-coloured,
chiseled pieces of extruded snacks, shaped in the form of a dragon.
These dragons are crisp, great to taste and provide a unique, entertaining

Kapil Sibal inaugurates Food Research Analysis Centre in New Delhi
On the inauguration of the Food Research and Analysis Centre,
an autonomous body set up by FICCI in New Delhi recently, the Union
Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Shri Kapil
Sibal, stressed the need to ensure the safety and international standards
of food products to compete in the export market. He suggested that
our standards should be integrated to the international food chain.
To market our agricultural products, more food laboratories are needed
even at the district level. It can be achieved with public-private partnership.
The biggest challenge now facing is how to reform the agricultural sector
to produce high quality of food, when India is the second largest producer
of wheat, rice, sugar, vegetables, groundnuts and so on. The Minister
of State for Food Processing Industries, Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, in
the keynote address said that the Government will render all assistance
to set up 100 more food laboratories in the coming year.
