Rasna turns on heat to
survive the chill

AHMEDABAD: Soft drink concentrate (SDC) manufacturer Rasna is turning hot to survive the cold. Hoping to bridle slackness in sales during the winters by piggybacking on hot beverages, the company has launched Coffee Quick and Tea Quick as part of its latest foray in the ready-to-drink beverage market.

According to Mr Piruz Khambatta, chairman and managing director, Rasna Limited, the company would be the first one to offer a combination of hot and cold beverages through a single vending machine in the country.

“The indigenously-designed vending machines will simulataneously serve coffee, tea and two Rasna flavours,” he added.

The company is taking the franchise route for its vending business. While the franchisee would bear the cost of installing, operating and maintaining the machines, the pre-mixes used for making the beverages would be sourced from the company. Rasna Quick Tea and Quick Coffee have been competitively priced at Rs 3.
