Purabi Naha speaks to Virendra Ghole, Marketing Manager, Monginis, and finds out the secret behind the brand's delicious success story

Monginis prepares items that span the dessert spectrum from cakes, croissants and rolls to fried savouries like samosas, cutlets, shammi kababs and everything in between. Each and every creation it makes tastes as divine as it appears.
Strong nationwide presence
Whether large or small, perfection is its main ingredient. Monginis combines elegance and great taste that is almost unmatched. Its products are motivated by constantly trying to outdo itself by making cakes that are beautiful, challenging and as out-of-the-ordinary as possible. The marketing and distribution network is equally strong as well. "We have a strong presence in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh, Orissa and West Bengal through 422 exclusive franchisees and around 15,000 retailers," says Virendra Ghole, Marketing Manager, Monginis.
The Monginis chain
Opening new outlets is ongoing process in Monginis. Mr Ghole opines, "Our's is a population-driven business, that is, wherever population exists we have a potential for selling cakes and pastries. Due to our goodwill in the market, we keep getting regular enquiries for franchisees and through our system of franchisee-selection process, the sites are visited for assessment of potential and prominence of the shop." He further adds, "While opening new outlets we also see to that the existing franchisees in the adjoining areas are not affected."
Business objective and future plans
Rigorously maintaining the quality and freshness of our products and offering the same to masses at 'affordable' prices is Monginis' motto. In order to achieve the same, it has to continuously monitor the entire production and supply chain and keep a constant watch on the changing consumer tastes and preferences.
