The
$14-billion Mars Incorporated, which markets leading brands such as
Snickers, Mars, Twix and M&M's chocolates, plans to foray into the
pet care segment in India in a major way.
According
to a report in a business newspaper, the company is in the process of
setting up a factory in Hyderabad for its pet foods venture.
Mars
Inc's pet foods business includes brands such as Pedigree, Cesar, Whiskas,
Sheba, Kitekat, Trill, Winergy and Aquarian. The pet care business includes
snacks and complete meals for cats, dogs, cage birds, aquarian fish
and horses.
Currently,
Mars Inc imports its range of chocolate brands in the country.
