International FoodTec India, Dairy Universe India and Sweet & Snack
Factory India 2004 promise to provide multitudinous business opportunities
for the industry
The food processing industry of India is one of the largest in terms
of production, consumption, export and growth prospects. To showcase
the trends within the industry, the Confederation of Indian Food Trade
and Industry (Cifti) and the German Agricultural Society have chalked
up an interesting conference schedule for the International FoodTec
India 2004 to be held at HITEX fair grounds, Hyderabad from September
10-13, 2004.
Running parallel to the International FoodTec India will be the related
events, Dairy Universe India and Sweet & Snack Factory India 2004.
At the event, the exhibitors and buyers will witness a range of latest
innovations in this sector in order to update themselves about the technological
trends in India and abroad.
The technology forum includes four sectors of the food technology industry
food processing in general, dairy, sweet and snack technology,
and overall packaging. The show will cover a wide array of topics like
Indian agro-processing; government initiatives and incentives in the
Indian food processing industry; import regulations and market access
requirements for the Indian, German and other markets; and new innovations
in the food technology industry. Besides participation from leading
companies from India, the event has the official participation of the
German Agricultural Society, an Iranian pavilion and an Italian pavilion.
On February 12, 2004, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industries
of India organised a seminar on Economic Growth Structure
for India. For the financial year 2003-04, the Central Statistical Organisation
expects a GDP growth of 8.1 per cent. The food industry is expected
to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this increase.
About 5,000 rural clusters have been identified as growth clusters,
which will speed up the food processing industry as well as the food
retail industry.
Thus, the mood of the food and processed food sectors in India is upbeat.
This is amply reflected in the list of members who have joined the Advisory
Board for International FoodTec India 2004. These members are from all
segments of the food and food processing sectors. The Advisory Board
will be discussing the actual situation within the industry and how
the current developments should be reflected at International FoodTec
India 2004.
The board is also a steering committee for the promotional activities
to be conducted for exhibitors and visitors.
