The food industry's professional standards appear to be on an upswing with FoodCert India's accredited training programme in the pipeline. TFPJ reports

Every professional in the QMS is familiar with IRCA (International Register of Certification Auditors), ISO 9001 - 2000 QMS Lead Auditor Course. In fact, IRCA registration status as auditor has become a status of global recognition. In view of the increasing focus on food safety issues and increasing demand from consumers and importers across the globe, for compliance with Food Safety Standards, the need for the introduction of Food safety Management Systems Course (FSMS) has become all the more relevant. Organisations in the food chain range from feed producers, primary producers, food manufacturers, transport and storage operators, sub contractors, retailers and food service outlets. However, presently those who intend to attend this course have to travel overseas. In response to this need, the Hyderabad based FoodCert India is introducing this programme in India in arrangement with IQCS Certification, Singapore, currently the largest IRCA accredited training organisation in Asia that provides professional auditor training under the IRCA brand. This initiative will facilitate availability of several auditors and experts and in return will benefit the entire Indian food industry. The FSMS course will enhance the skills of Quality Assurance Personnel in any part of food chain in complying with HACCP and the forthcoming ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems. Successful completion of the course is a part of the training requirements for getting registered with IRCA as FSMS Auditor. FoodCert India, a pioneering food safety consulting company, has a unique distinction of achieving the several significant milestones in the promotion of Standards related to Food Chain in India.
