NEW
DELHI:
The Japanese companies are interested in investing in the food processing
sector in India.
This was stated
by the visiting parliamentary secretary of Japan Shigehiko Okuyama,
when he called on the Union agriculture minister Ajit Singh in the capital
on Thursday.
Shigehiko also offered
to share Japan's experience in disaster management with India.
Shigehiko said that
Japan is also looking for opportunities to export small tractors from
Japan, which, he said, would be suitable for India because of its small
land holdings.
The visiting secretary
is attending the second Asian meeting of United Nations International
Strategy for Disaster Reduction.
